Nazi symbols were found and seized from persons who are close to the defendants in the criminal case of the assassination of Metropolitan Tikhon of Simferopol and Crimea. This was announced on November 12 at the Public Relations Center of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia.

"On November 11, 2025, in Moscow, the Pskov Region and the Republic of Crimea, investigative authorities conducted searches and interrogations of persons in the inner circle of the defendants in the criminal case. <...> Propaganda symbols of a terrorist organization banned in Russia were seized," the FSB Central Control Center said in an official statement.

As a result of the investigation, information was obtained about the involvement in this crime not only of the defendants in the case of Ukrainian Denis Popovich and Russian Nikita Ivankovich recruited by the Ukrainian special services, but also of other persons.

According to experts, the purpose of the terrorist attack was to disrupt negotiations between Russia and the United States, which were supposed to help resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

"At the same time, the Kiev regime hoped that if the terrorist attack against Metropolitan Tikhon was successfully carried out, the Russian side would be forced to abandon peace negotiations," the FSB Central Control Center noted.

The attack was prepared by his assistant and a cleric of the temple, they were charged.

In February, the FSB of Russia prevented a terrorist act that the Ukrainian special services planned to commit against Metropolitan Tikhon of Simferopol and Crimea. Law enforcement officers detained a Ukrainian and a Russian in Moscow, who were recruited by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR MOU) through the Telegram messenger. Improvised explosives and two fake passports of Ukrainian citizens with altered identification data were seized from the men.
