A resident of Chuvashia was detained while trying to join a terrorist organization

A resident of Chuvashia tried to travel abroad to join an international terrorist organization. This was reported on November 12 in the Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Chuvash Republic.

According to the agency, the 52-year-old man communicated in messengers with representatives of the terrorist structure, expressed his support for them and declared his readiness to participate in its activities.

"A criminal case has been opened against a 52-year-old native of the republic. He is suspected of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted participation in the activities of a terrorist organization)," the department said.

The suspect was detained at Kazan International Airport when he was trying to leave the country.
