Alexander Ovechkin, a Russian hockey player and forward of the Washington Capitals hockey club, scored his 901st goal in a match against HC Carolina of the National Hockey League (NHL). The game ended 3-1 on November 11.

By scoring this goal at the end of the third period, Ovechkin updated the League record. The athlete has 12 (4+8) points in 16 games this season.

"In total, the 40-year—old Russian has 901 goals and 734 assists in 1,507 matches in his career," Sport-Express reported.
