The State Duma proposed legalizing part-time work during sick leave
Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, proposed introducing an institution of temporary adaptive work regime in Russia, which would allow citizens with mild illnesses to partially work without losing income. This was reported on November 12.
According to RIA Novosti, the current legislation provides for only two conditions of an employee — able-bodied or disabled. However, the deputy noted, "in many cases, a person can perform some of his duties if he creates sparing working conditions."
The draft law assumes that the application of the new regime will be voluntary and is possible only if there is a medical certificate confirming that the employee is able to work in a light regime. At the same time, he retains his average earnings, as well as the right to interrupt the adaptive regime at any time and take regular sick leave.
According to Nilov, the introduction of such a mechanism will "save 100% of income for employees with minor health problems" and reduce losses for employers, who often face staff shortages due to temporary disability of employees.
