Trump announced the viewing of Victory Day celebrations in Russia
US President Donald Trump has admitted that he watched Victory Day celebrations in Russia. He announced this on November 11 during the Veterans Day celebration ceremony in the United States.
"I watched them do it (celebrate Victory Day. In the UK, in Russia, they celebrate Victory Day in World War II, and I thought: and why don't we have it? "— said Trump.
The American leader announced that from now on, not only Veterans Day is celebrated in the United States, but also Victory Day in the First and Second World Wars. He also noted that it was the United States that won these wars.
"Of course, it could be noted for many other wars, but let's start with these two. Perhaps one day someone will add a few more, because we have had many glorious victories," the head of the White House concluded.
On September 5, Trump signed a decree renaming the country's Ministry of Defense to the Ministry of War for the duration of his presidential term. He took the initiative to return the historical name on August 26. The American leader clarified that the agency had such a name during the First and Second World Wars. He also noted that the "ministry of war" sounds more weighty.
