The promised reward for the murder of Scholz and Merkel was detained in Germany
A Polish citizen has been arrested in Germany for calling for attacks on political figures, including former Chancellors Olaf Scholz and Angela Merkel. This was reported on November 11 by the newspaper Le Parisien.
"Martin S. was arrested on Monday in Dortmund and must be presented to a judge, who must decide on his placement in pre—trial detention," the article says, referring to the Federal Prosecutor's Office of Germany.
According to the newspaper, the man belongs to the Reichsburgers movement, which denies the legitimacy of Germany. Since June 2025, he has been actively calling for attacks on politicians, government officials, and public figures on the darknet (DarkNet — shadow Internet). Martin published the names of potential targets, pronounced "death sentences" and distributed instructions on how to make explosive devices.
It is specified that he also promised rewards for committing murders. The prosecutor's office has not yet confirmed whether the detainee had weapons or explosives to carry out his threats.
On November 10, Reuters reported that in Syria, two assassination attempts on the President of the republic for the transitional period, Ahmad al-Sharaa, were prevented, which were prepared by the Islamic State (IS, the organization is banned in the territory of the Russian Federation). According to the agency, both operations were carried out in recent months, and one of the attacks could have occurred at a pre-announced official engagement event in which al-Sharaa was supposed to participate.
