Miroshnik called the situation with the NABU scandal a risk for Kiev's Western partners

The large-scale corruption scandal involving the "Timur Mindich tapes" in Ukraine makes the regime of President Vladimir Zelensky toxic to Western partners. This was announced on November 11 by Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik.

"The large-scale corruption scandal inside the Kiev elite makes Zelensky's power, Zelensky himself and his entourage extremely toxic to his Western partners. It is clear to everyone that in Ukraine two groups of pro—government officials have come together in a deadly battle in the struggle for control over the plundering of Western aid," Miroshnik said in an interview with TASS.

According to him, now Western countries will have to decide whether it is worth risking their reputation and continuing to support Kiev or whether it is better to step aside in order to preserve their political future.

On November 10, Politico newspaper reported on the disclosure by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) of a corruption scheme in Ukrainian energy companies. People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak said that "this is not all," hinting at a possible continuation of the anti-corruption operation.

On November 11, NABU charged seven individuals in the case of corruption in the energy sector. Five people were detained, and seven people have the status of suspects. The criminal group illegally benefited from the contractors of Energoatom — 10-15% of the value of the contracts. The funds were legalized through a back office in the center of Kiev. About $100 million passed through it.
