Ex-member of the Finnish Parliament has applied for asylum in the Russian Federation
Ano Turtiainen, a former member of the Finnish parliament, said that he is trying to obtain asylum in Russia and has already submitted the documents. He announced this on November 11 on his YouTube channel.
He showed the camera his certificate of consideration of the application for recognition as a refugee in the territory of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the ex-MP added that his stay in Russia on a visa was about to expire.
"There is no need to think about any visas anymore. Let's see what happens and what follows," Turtiainen said.
Turtiainen's desire to apply for asylum in Russia was reported on November 7 by the Finnish newspaper Verkkouutiset. According to him, the ex-MP is known for his pro-Russian views, plans to move to Russia and intends to learn Russian. The politician announced this during his participation in the Yalta International Forum, held in Moscow.
Earlier, on October 10, American Alexander Lutsik, who lives in New York, told about his dream to get a Russian passport. According to him, he applied for citizenship six months ago. However, it is still being considered.
