Russian dancer and choreographer Ildar Gainutdinov. Biography
Ildar Gainutdinov is a Russian dancer and choreographer, the leading soloist of the Alla Dukhova dance theater "Todes", the finalist of the fourth season of the show "Dancing" on TNT. His name is now known far beyond the dance community, including thanks to his affair with Olympic figure skating champion Evgenia Medvedeva.
Family and childhood years
Ildar Gainutdinov was born on November 30, 2000 in Moscow into an international family. His mother, Renata Mazalova, is Azerbaijani by nationality. Father Rinad Gainutdinov is a Tatar. The dancer himself, speaking about his origin, notes that he considers himself half Tatar, half Azerbaijani, but still considers himself more of his mother's nationality.
His parents divorced when Ildar was not even two years old. His son was raised by his mother, who fully supported him at all stages of his creative career. She currently holds the post of Director of the External Communications Department of the Todes Dance Studio.
As a child, Ildar was diagnosed with atypical autism, an autism spectrum disorder. Because of this, at the age of seven, he hardly spoke and had serious communication difficulties. To help her son socialize and find contact with the world, Renata made the fateful decision to bring him to Alla Dukhova's dance school studio.
According to the dancer, during his school years it was difficult for him not only to study, but also to go on stage, but dancing helped him overcome the psychological barriers associated with the disease.
Studying and starting a career at Todes
Olga Shkuratova became Ildar's first teacher. After the first year of study, the artistic director of the ballet, Alla Dukhova, noted the outstanding abilities of the young dancer and awarded him a grant for free training. It became a sign of recognition and opened the door to a professional career.
When Ildar was 14 years old, Alla Dukhova invited him to join the main cast of her ballet. He became the youngest dancer in Todes' history. From that moment on, his professional career on the big stage began.
In addition, since school, he has actively conducted master classes throughout Russia and abroad and often acted as a member of the jury at dance competitions.
In parallel with dancing, Gainutdinov mastered the elements of acrobatics at the Olympic reserve school. The desire to devote himself entirely to choreography led to the fact that in the 9th grade he switched to distance learning.
In 2018, Ildar received a secondary education certificate and in the same year entered the Russian Institute of Theater Arts — GITIS at the production faculty.
Participation in television projects
The talented artist was noticed and began to be invited to television. His first major television experience was participating in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013, where he danced for Dayana Kirillova, a participant from Russia.
In 2015, Ildar won the eighth season of the Ukrainian show "Everyone is Dancing!", and a year later he returned to this project as a choreographer. In 2017, he auditioned for the fourth show "Dancing" on TNT, where he joined Tatiana Denisova's team. His performance attracted the unanimous support of the audience and the judges, which allowed him to reach the finals.
In 2018, the dancer won the World of Dance Polska international competition in Poland. In 2021, he added a victory in the TV project "Dance Revolution" to his piggy bank. At the same time, he was awarded the VIVO "Best Dancer of the Year" award, and a year later he received the diploma "Man of the Year" from the Committee for Program Support of the President of the Russian Federation.

Personal life: engagement to Evgenia Medvedeva
In recent days, the engagement of dancer and figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva has become one of the most discussed topics in the media space. Gainutdinov's acquaintance with the Olympic champion took place in 2024 on the project "Star Dances" on TNT, where they danced as a couple.
From the first minutes of rehearsals together, it became clear that their approach to work, artistry and charisma perfectly match. Their duet became a favorite of the project. The audience and judges noted the incredible "chemistry" between the partners.
Despite the rumors, Medvedeva stated at the time that they had an exclusively professional relationship. The couple hid the affair from the public for almost a year. They officially declassified their feelings only in July 2025, posting a series of photos together on social media with the caption: "Through dance, into life."
On November 11, 2025, it became known about an important event in the couple's life: 24-year-old Ildar Gainutdinov and Evgenia Medvedeva announced their engagement. The dancer made a marriage proposal on November 7, presenting the figure skater with a white gold ring with a diamond. Medvedeva agreed.
