In Russia, it was proposed to put AI at the head of the new Ministry of Procurement

A fundamentally new authority may appear in Russia — the Ministry of Public Procurement, headed by artificial Intelligence. This proposal was made by the AVANTI Business Association. Izvestia reviewed the document on November 12.

The proposal is aimed at a radical improvement of the contract system. According to the association, the AI Minister will be able to take total control of all tenders, coordination and pricing, which will deal a blow to corruption and the "human factor."

"The use of AI has already yielded real results in a number of regions of the Russian Federation. For example, in the Republic of Tatarstan, the system uses AI to monitor the state of the urban environment, which makes it possible to clean streets 50% faster. And, for example, in the Novosibirsk region, AI agents help officials work with documents and requests from citizens, which freed up up to 60% of their working time," AVANTI Rahman Yansukov, a Russian entrepreneur and president of the association, said in a letter.

However, according to him, the real power of artificial intelligence can be directed to the epicenter of financial flows — to the allocation of budget funds. This will not only automate, but also completely clean up the procurement process from abuse.

The reason for such drastic measures was the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, demanding fundamental improvement of control in the field of public procurement by December 1, 2025. The creation of an "electronic" ministry can produce instant results: the speed and efficiency of procurement, the quality of purchased goods and services will increase, and entrepreneurs will receive the most transparent conditions.

On November 7, MWS AI informed Izvestia that Russian companies had begun forming AI transformation offices, departments for implementing neural network-based products into various processes. Organizations are massively looking for managers who will be able to launch and scale initiatives in the field of artificial intelligence, automate routine processes and improve the efficiency of departments.
