The Russian agricultural industry has adapted to the current challenges. This was announced on November 11 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at the Strategic Session "Development of the agro-industrial sector and ensuring Food Security."

"The industry has adapted to current challenges and is responding promptly to the needs of the domestic market," Mishustin said.

He noted that Russia has the potential to increase agricultural exports, and also stressed that the government of the country will continue to support this industry. According to the Prime Minister, the Russian Federation is approaching the target values of food security.

"Starting next year, we will begin providing subsidies to finance the costs of agricultural colleges for the implementation of their development projects. In total, we will allocate 5 billion rubles from the federal budget for these purposes over three years," Mishustin added.

The head of government clarified that by the end of last year, Russia had provided itself with grain, meat and fish.

Earlier, on October 30, Mishustin announced that the Russian government would allocate over 34 billion rubles to support preferential loans to agricultural producers. It is expected that the decision on preferential subsidies will help farmers to continue their work successfully.

Prior to that, on October 27, Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, said that seasonal field work was coming to an end in Russia, and at the moment the harvest had reached the level of 135 million tons in bunker weight. He noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin has set a goal for a serious increase in agricultural production by 2030. The Deputy Prime Minister clarified that this is the first national project that is being implemented in the field of agriculture and agriculture, with the exception of the initiative from 2006, which was also aimed at developing the industry.
