There have been 271 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.
Over the past day, 271 traffic accidents were recorded on Russian roads, in which 31 people were killed and 311 injured. 24 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on November 11 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
In one of the villages of the Samara region at night, a 20-year-old passenger car driver decided to skip a railway crossing at a forbidding traffic light, but collided with an electric locomotive. The motorist died.
The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded motorists of the importance of observing the rules of passage of railway crossings, since this maneuver is considered dangerous and requires the driver to concentrate and pay maximum attention. For bus drivers, full concentration is doubly necessary when crossing railway tracks. An analysis of accidents at railway crossings shows that such accidents most often occur at unregulated crossings, where drivers, not convinced of the safety of the maneuver, try to slip in front of a nearby train.
In the traffic regulations, there is a direct ban on leaving the railway track outside the crossing. The maneuver is impossible when the barrier is closed or closing, or when the traffic light or crossing attendant is forbidding. Stopping or parking a vehicle at a railway crossing is also strictly prohibited, as it poses a real threat of collision with a train. If this happens in an emergency, such as when a car breaks down, the driver must immediately drop people off, remove them to a safe distance, and tow or push the car off the rails.
Also on Monday, 17 bus accidents were recorded, in which one person was killed, and 24 more road users needed medical help. The cause of 12 incidents were traffic violations committed by drivers of other vehicles.
As a result of 110 accidents involving pedestrians, seven people were killed, 104 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured are 17 child pedestrians, 11 of whom were injured at pedestrian crossings. Of the total number of pedestrian incidents, 52 occurred at pedestrian crossings and 58 outside their area of operation.
34 accidents involving minors were registered, in which 34 young road users were injured, including 16 child passengers. One child, a pedestrian, was killed.
So, in the city of Armavir, Krasnodar Territory, in the evening, a 27-year-old car driver did not notice pedestrians in front of him while driving, and at an unregulated pedestrian crossing he ran over a 12-year-old schoolboy who was returning home with a peer after sports training. The boy died.
"We urge motorists to strictly follow the rules of the road and be more careful when driving, especially in the morning and evening on the roads of towns and cities. Drivers should take special care when approaching intersections and unregulated pedestrian crossings. We recommend that you do not rush to "skip" them as quickly as possible, but, on the contrary, slow down to the minimum speed in advance in order to stop the vehicle to allow pedestrians to pass or in case of a sudden change in the road situation," said Police Colonel Anton Belan, Deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
On November 1, it was reported that following the results of the first nine months of 2025, a decrease in road traffic accidents was recorded in the Russian Federation. The number of road accidents decreased by 2.4% (94.9 thousand cases), the number of dead — by 3.4% (10.1 thousand people), injured — by 3% (117.7 thousand people).
