There is an opinion that representatives of generation Z eat exclusively snacks and fast food. However, according to Gleb Kharitonov, founder of the Briskly micromarket company, buzzers choose food consciously and pay attention to the composition of the products. He told Izvestia about this on November 17.
"According to sales data in micromarkets, shawarma, rolls, sandwiches, onigiri, chicken shawarma, Italian shawarma, teriyaki chicken sandwich, smoked sausage, turkey or chicken roll were in the top among buzzers (15-28 years old) — they account for 67% of sales. Acute positions were in high demand," the expert said.
He drew attention to the fact that young people do not ignore breakfast — in the morning, cheesecakes, pancakes, bagels with fish or meat and omelets with vegetables are in demand. Bottled water with and without gas is most often bought from beverages — more than 50% of sales, as well as juices and teas. According to Kharitonov, Snickers, Mars and Twix bars remain popular for dessert — 34% of customers choose them.
"We see a demand for positions that are suitable for a quick snack between classes, when young people do not have time for a full meal, which takes an average of half an hour. The greatest demand is for different sandwich formats based on meat and vegetables," the source said.
At the same time, according to him, the buzzers choose products with a minimum content of sauces, sugar and flavor enhancers. There is a growing interest in serving cups with fresh fruit — 22% of young customers buy them.
Kharitonov stressed that it is important for young people that food is not only healthy, but also tasty. Soups remain off—trend, as demand for them is minimal.
