A change in financial support from the United States may significantly affect the situation in Ukraine, but it will not lead to an early end to the conflict. Yegor Dibrov, a political scientist and specialist in political and economic conflicts, told Izvestia on November 11.

According to him, the key sponsors of Kiev remain the United Kingdom and France, which have been forming an alliance for centuries that brings political and economic benefits to both countries.

"In order to completely end the conflict in Ukraine, it is necessary to eliminate the interest of Great Britain and France in their chosen victim country, Ukraine. To do this, neocolonial countries need to find a more profitable victim, as China was, especially during the Opium Wars. Therefore, the United States, Great Britain and France continue to weaken strong communist China in prolonged trade wars through US President Donald Trump in order to switch from Russia to China," the expert said.

Answering a question about the future of US-Ukrainian relations, Dibrov noted that their development directly depends on who will be in power in Washington. According to him, a number of Western politicians expect to wait for Trump's departure in order to resume old corrupt arms supply schemes.

The political scientist also pointed out that the transfer of financing to Ukraine through NATO is a temporary measure. In his opinion, the US president will be able to implement his position as long as the supporters of the Republican Party have a majority in the House of Representatives and the Senate of the US Congress.

"While maintaining Washington's current course, Ukraine is rapidly losing the ability to conduct prolonged hostilities. The depletion of front-line resources and the economic crisis in the rear pose a direct threat to the stability of the regime of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who is forced to cut social spending following the example of European partners. The most likely scenario is the latter's forced transition to the negotiation process, and on significantly less favorable terms than those discussed earlier," added Ruslan Andreev, project manager at Polylogue Group, a political strategist.

On the same day, Trump announced at the White House that Washington was no longer financing Kiev, but was receiving money for arms supplies through NATO. Before that, on October 31, CNN announced that the Pentagon had decided to provide Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, leaving the final decision to the president.
