Landing a MiG-31 fighter by a navigator in case of hijacking is impossible. This was announced on November 11 by Honored Military pilot of the Russian Federation Alexander Gribov.

"The flight operations manual does not provide for landing from the rear cockpit, therefore, in case of a situation, the pilot-navigator must activate the ejection system in order to save the lives of the crew members. Landing is impossible, it will inevitably lead to disaster," Gribov stressed.

Earlier in the day, the FSB's public relations center reported on the prevention of an attempt by Ukrainian military intelligence with the support of British intelligence agencies to hijack a Russian MiG-31 fighter jet with a Kinzhal hypersonic missile. It was clarified that the Ukrainian military intelligence service was trying to recruit Russian military pilots, offering them up to $ 3 million for an airplane flight to the territory of one of the NATO countries.

The Russian pilot himself, whom they tried to recruit, said that they kept in touch with him via the Internet. The interlocutor, who called himself Alexander, showed photos and videos with large amounts of cash promised for completing the task. He was also promised citizenship of one of the Western countries.
