Doctors rescued a baby injured during a fire in Ussuriysk

Doctors managed to save a three-year-old boy who was injured during a fire in Ussuriysk on October 31. He's on the mend. His brother and sister died.

According to PrimaMedia news agency, with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Health of Primorsky Krai, the child received severe poisoning from gorenje products, he was hospitalized with a diagnosis of "toxic encephalopathy". Specialists from the Disaster Medicine Center delivered the baby from the Ussuriysk city Hospital to Vladivostok. Doctors of the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital No. 1 fought for his life.

On November 10, the boy was transferred to the pediatrics department. He will be discharged soon and given to his guardians.

The fire occurred on the evening of October 31 on Polushkina Street in Ussuriysk. One of the apartments on the third floor caught fire. Rescuers arrived and carried three unconscious children out of the room. A six-month-old baby and a two-year-old child died.

According to preliminary data, the fire was caused by careless handling of fire. In addition, the children's mother led an antisocial lifestyle, she was not in the apartment at the time of the fire, the TFR reported.

A criminal case has been opened into the incident. According to the prosecutor's office, the case of negligence was initiated based on the results of the inspection. It turned out that the family was recognized as being in a socially dangerous situation, while there was no proper control over the patronage of young children by the Oktyabrskaya Central District Hospital.
