Washington is counting on concrete actions by Syria to achieve peace in the Middle East after the suspension of sanctions. On November 11, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio wrote about this on the social network X (former.Twitter).

"The United States expects to see concrete actions from the Syrian government that should turn the page on the past and ensure work to achieve peace in the region," he said.

The Secretary of State added that the decision to temporarily suspend sanctions should also contribute to the restoration of the Syrian economy and the gradual resumption of the country's international relations.

Earlier, on November 10, it was reported that Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa met with US President Donald Trump at the White House to strengthen Syrian-American relations. According to the Syrian Foreign Ministry, as a result of negotiations at the White House, the parties agreed to continue implementing the agreement between the Kurds and the Syrian government, which was signed on March 10 and provides for the inclusion of Kurdish fighters in the armed forces of the republic.
