The United Aircraft Company (UAC, part of the Rostec State Corporation) has reduced the maximum flight range of the MC-21 aircraft. Information about this follows from the characteristics of the aircraft published on the company's website.

Based on the data, the maximum range of the aircraft is 3,830 km, previously it was at 5,100 km. The maximum take—off weight remained the same - 85 tons.

According to the newspaper Vedomosti, citing sources at Rostec, the reduction in flight range indicates more realistic characteristics of the aircraft. According to the source, the current range fully corresponds to the initial technical specification of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in 2009, which indicated a target of 3,500 km.

"Given that 80% of all passenger traffic in Russia is on air routes up to 3,000 km long, the current range of the MC-21 largely covers the needs of carriers," he explained.

The updated option allows you to make non-stop flights from Moscow to Novosibirsk. In the future, based on the MS-21, it is planned to create a family of aircraft with a range from 3,500 to 7,500 km.

The press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported on November 7 that the fully import-substituted SJ-100 (Sukhoi Superjet 100) successfully completed tests to protect Russian PD-8 engines from water ingress. It was noted that this type of test is one of the most important, since take-off and landing of the aircraft can be carried out, including during rain.
