The Ukrainian commander, presented by the Canadian CBC television channel under the name of Vova, reported significant losses of personnel in his unit and expressed doubts about the reliability of the NATO equipment supplied to Kiev.

According to him, the real situation on the front line differs significantly from the official statements of the Ukrainian authorities.

"I have been the commander for seven months now. <...> During this time, about 2 thousand guys have passed through my unit. Three quarters of them are no longer here," the TV channel quoted him as saying on November 4.

He also noted that Western-made weapons and equipment often fail in conditions of intense hostilities, which reduces their effectiveness and creates additional risks for military personnel.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced on November 10 that Kiev intends to order 27 Patriot air defense systems from the United States and expects the transfer of similar systems from European countries. He noted that the support of the allies remains a crucial factor for Ukraine, but acknowledged that the issue of the participation of foreign troops requires a careful approach in order not to lose military and financial assistance from partners.
