Trump considered the White House unsuitable for receiving Xi Jinping
US President Donald Trump said that the White House in its current state is not able to serve as a full-fledged venue for major diplomatic events, including the possible reception of Chinese President Xi Jinping. He said this on November 10 in an interview with Fox News channel.
According to the American leader, the building "is not designed for such large-scale receptions." Trump noted that the space for official events is limited.
"Currently, if we receive President Xi (Jinping) from China or hold any major state event, we simply do not have the space for this," he said, stressing the need to discuss options for holding similar meetings at other venues.
