- Servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces told about the liberation of Rybny in Zaporizhia
Soldiers of the assault units of the 37th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 36th army of the Vostok group of forces told how the liberation of the village of Rybnoye in the Zaporizhia region took place. Footage of the work of Russian military personnel was shown by the Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday, November 11.
According to the commander of the reconnaissance unit with the call sign Dzhigit, the fighters were tasked with infiltrating Rybnoye covertly and forcing the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to leave the village. The enemy assumed the beginning of the assault and burned down the forest belts, which could serve as a good cover, so the Russian soldiers advanced cautiously, one or two at a time. As a result, it was possible to pass a difficult section unnoticed and reach the shore of the Yachur River.
"The river was crossed at the narrowest point: according to data from our UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles. — Ed.) they chose a ford, put logs under it — they were soaked to the waist anyway. They entered the village slowly: the bet on secrecy worked — they weren't waiting for us there," he shared.
A shooter with the call sign Chemist said that three dugouts were cleared during the clash, and an APU mortar was destroyed.
"Small arms of NATO designs — Canadian and American production - were found in shelters. The fog helped: we gained a foothold in two groups on different streets and went deeper. By the end of the battle, the resistance on the second street had almost come to naught — they began to withdraw. They cleaned up, raised flags, and secured themselves," the Chemist said.
As the commander of the reconnaissance unit with the call sign Focus noted, the effect of surprise helped during the liberation of the village — a significant part of the enemy's personnel simply retreated after the assault began.
Earlier, on November 10, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that units of the Vostok group of forces had liberated five settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions in four days. During the offensive, the units took control of more than 25 square kilometers.
On the same day, it became known that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation had taken control of the settlements of Novoe and Sladke in the Zaporizhia region. During the offensive actions of Russian units in this area, formations of three mechanized and assault brigades, as well as an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, were defeated in several areas of the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions.
