The Tripoli and Zmiev thermal power plants in the Kiev and Kharkiv regions have temporarily stopped working. In the coming weeks, power outages of up to 12 hours are possible in Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian edition "Страна.иа ".

The Ministry of Energy confirmed the damage to the facilities. The head of the department, Svetlana Grinchuk, said that the restoration has already begun.

"Repair work is underway at Tripolskaya and Zmievskaya TPPs. I can't disclose our plans yet," she said at a briefing.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Centrenergo's statement about the complete shutdown of state-owned thermal power plants caused a sharp reaction in the office of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. After discussions, the company's initial publication was edited, adding language about recovery and elimination of consequences.
