Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who left prison in Paris, said he intends to continue to seek recognition of his innocence. He wrote about this on November 10 on the social network X.

According to the politician, he will now focus his efforts on preparing for the appeal hearing.

"The law has been applied. Now I will prepare the appeal process. My energy is focused solely on the sole purpose of proving my innocence. The truth will prevail. This is an obvious truth that life teaches," Sarkozy said.

Sarkozy also thanked everyone who supported him during his imprisonment, noting that the letters and words of support "gave strength to withstand this ordeal."

Earlier, on October 21, Sarkozy arrived at the Sante prison in Paris to serve a five-year sentence in the case of illegal campaign financing. The court also fined him, and the French media reported later, on October 23, that the former president had faced ridicule and difficulties with conditions of detention in prison.
