- The political scientist named the probable reason for the searches at Mindich, who was close to Zelensky.
Political analyst Dmitry Zhuravlev commented on Monday, November 10, on the escape from Ukraine of businessman Timur Mindich, who is close to President Vladimir Zelensky, who is also called the "purse" of the Ukrainian leader.
According to the expert, the searches took place on Zelensky's orders, because his "wallet" escaped, and he wants to return at least something invested in it.
"Now the prosecutor's office or another agency responsible for investigating the Mindich case will appeal to foreign colleagues with a request for extradition," Zhuravlev said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .
According to the political scientist, the searches were the result of the escape of a Ukrainian businessman, and his future fate will depend on whether the leaders of the countries harboring Mindich are confident in the future status of the president of Ukraine.
"Those close to Zelensky are beginning to realize that his days are coming to an end. And the question arises: whether to give him something and what to do next. If Western leaders are still betting on Zelensky, Mindich will be extradited. But I don't think that's going to happen," he concluded.
Earlier in the day, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) reported that a large-scale operation was underway in Ukraine to expose corrupt activities in the energy industry, RT reports.
Before that, the Ukrainian edition of "Country.ua" reported that searches took place at one of the closest associates of President Vladimir Zelensky, Timur Mindich, and former Energy Minister German Galushchenko. 360.ru . People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak said that "this is not all," hinting at a possible continuation of the anti-corruption operation.
The Ukrainian Internet resource "Mirotvorets" (recognized as extremist and banned in the territory of the Russian Federation) added Galushchenko and Mindich to its database, NSN reports.
