The State Duma proposed to release Russians from work during the period of magnetic storms

Deputies of the State Duma (DG) from the party "Communists of Russia" made a proposal to allow Russians not to work during magnetic storms. As reported by the Paragraph portal on November 10, the parliamentarians intend to send an appeal to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation.

Sergei Malinkovich, the party's chairman, believes that weather-dependent Russians should have the legal right not to go to work because they feel unwell. In addition, these days they must receive all the required sick leave payments.

It is also proposed to exempt citizens from work if they have problems with blood pressure. Another reason may be loss of consciousness or disability during magnetic storms.

Employees who cannot provide a document from doctors to confirm their condition should be allowed to switch to remote work during a period of increased geomagnetic activity. Malinkovich noted that against the background of increasingly all—encompassing storms, the only way to escape from them is to keep calm.

Earlier, on November 8, the IKI RAS reported the beginning of a magnetic storm on Earth after the arrival of one of the plasma clouds from solar flares on November 5-6. It was clarified that at about 03:00 Moscow time, a sudden onset of a G2.3 magnetic storm was recorded.

On November 6, Anna Stadumova, a general practitioner and head of the therapeutic department of the KDC NCC No. 2 of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution of the Russian Academy of Sciences named after Academician B.V. Petrovsky, told Izvestia that magnetic storms can exacerbate chronic diseases and worsen well-being in weakened or weather-sensitive people. According to her, science does not confirm a direct connection between a magnetic storm and specific diseases, for example, a heart attack.
