Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's threat to "rid Europe" of Russian oil could hurt Hungary's interests and cause tension within the Western coalition. This was reported on November 10 by the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung.

The article emphasizes that such statements affect the strategically important Druzhba oil pipeline, through which Russian oil continues to flow to Hungary.

"These words addressed to Viktor Orban are more than just diplomatic rhetoric. They are the latest escalation in a conflict that blurs the line between conflict and blackmail of allies," the newspaper notes.

According to the newspaper, such statements can lead to disagreements between Kiev and its EU and NATO partners.

Earlier, on November 7, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced that the United States had freed Budapest from restrictions on Russian energy supplies via the Turkish Stream and the Druzhba oil pipeline. He also announced agreements on the purchase of nuclear fuel and cooperation with the American company Westinghouse.
