The Russian SAMBO wrestlers, who won 21 gold medals, returned to Moscow after the World Cup in Bishkek. On November 10, Izvestia publishes footage of the return of the Russian national team.

Dozens of people with posters in support of the team and flowers greeted the Russian athletes with applause at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport.

"I really liked the climate in Bishkek, and the atmosphere itself: the support of the audience, there were a lot of Russian guys who came to support our entire team," said SAMBO wrestler and judoka Angela Gasparyan.

According to another representative of the Russian national team, Anastasia Khomyachkova, the best athletes are going to the World Championships, and it is very expensive to prove that you are a champion.

"We've been going roughly speaking to one day for a whole year to show what we are capable of," the athlete emphasized.

Sambo wrestler Sergey Kuznetsov added that he had been going to the national team for a very long time. He also noted that playing at the World Cup means not only to prove your skills, but also to defend the honor of the country.

Earlier, on November 8, it was reported that the Russians won four gold medals on the second day of the World Sambo Championships in Bishkek. The men's gold medals were won by Artyom Tadin — combat sambo, up to 98 kg, and Sergey Kiryukhin — sports sambo, up to 88 kg. Taisiya Kireeva and Anastasia Lukanina won the women's combat sambo competitions in the weight categories up to 72 kg and up to 54 kg, respectively.
