Chita authorities told about snow removal in the city

Chita will use a sand-and-salt mixture to clean sidewalks from ice. The same train was used in previous years, said the mayor Inna Shcheglova during a meeting on Monday, November 10.

"Residents complained about us last year that we use a sand-and-salt mixture, including on sidewalks, but we have no other way out. The snow has fallen so thick," said the mayor, quoted by the ChitaMedia news agency.

According to her, these materials soften the ice crust on the snow well and it becomes easier to remove it. After that, the snow masses need to be removed, not stored on lawns and roadsides, the official added.

Earlier it was reported that about 1.2 billion rubles are required for the maintenance of roads in a standard condition in Chita. The budget of Transbaikalia allocated only 400 million rubles for this, but these funds are not enough.
