Almost all foreigners who have been denied political asylum in Poland over the past few years are Russian citizens. This was reported on November 10 by the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita.

"Of the several hundred foreigners who have lost international protection in Poland in recent years, almost 90% were Russians. Both the government and the opposition want to make it more difficult to obtain Polish citizenship," the publication says.

It is noted that the Polish authorities have withdrawn international protection from 410 foreigners since 2020. It implies the assignment of refugee status, asylum or temporary protection. Of these, 336 people were Russians, 38 were citizens of Ukraine and 15 were citizens of Belarus.

On November 7, the European Commission (EC) announced a ban on issuing new multiple-entry visas to Russian citizens. It was clarified that now, in order to visit the European Union (EU), Russians will have to apply to the visa application center every time. At the same time, EU countries will be able to continue issuing multiple-entry Schengen visas to family members of Russian citizens residing in the EU.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commenting on the restrictions on the issuance of multiple Schengen visas to Russians, clarified that Europe apparently does not need solvent tourists when there are migrants and tax evaders from Ukraine.
