The building of the urological department of the Pirogov Municipal Hospital No. 1 has been completely renovated in Sevastopol. The building was built back in 1897, Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev said on his social networks.

"For more than 125 years, major repairs have been carried out here only once, in 1988. In recent decades, the building has been operated with a huge load, and its engineering systems have long since exhausted their resources," the official wrote.

According to him, the renovation was difficult because the rear consists of several parts, erected in different years using different materials.

The workers reinforced the openings, replaced the floors, and completely renovated the engineering networks: sewerage, water supply, central heating with boilers, medical gas systems with cryogenic storage area for oxygen and nitrous oxide.

Now the department has comfortable rooms with individual bathrooms and showers, writes IA SevastopolMedia. The building was also equipped with modern ventilation and air conditioners, new medical equipment and a security system were installed.

The move to the renovated urology is expected after the delivery of the facility to the customer, receipt of all documents and completion of inspections. After that, the building will be able to receive up to 60 patients at a time, including six intensive care beds and a day hospital.

Earlier it was reported that major repairs of the department of the Crimean Republican Clinical Psychiatric Hospital No. 1 named after N.I. Balaban have been completed in Belogorsk. The medical facility was put into operation a month and a half earlier than planned
