The Social Fund will set a new maximum of sick leave benefits in 2026.

Sick leave payments will increase next year. Employees on sick leave will be able to receive up to 6827.4 rubles per day, compared with the current figure of 5673.97 rubles. This was reported on November 10 in the Telegram channel of the Social Fund.

"Russians will be able to receive up to 1.2 thousand rubles more per day. The increase in the maximum possible amount of sick leave is provided for in the draft budget of the Social Fund of Russia for the next three years. In 2026, it will reach 6827.4 rubles (now it is 5673.97 rubles)," the report says.

It is specified that in 2027 the amount of sick leave will increase to 7860.27 rubles, and in 2028 — to 8489.04 rubles.

According to the SFR, the increase is due to an increase in the marginal base for calculating insurance premiums.

Thanks to the transition to a proactive format in 2021 and the abandonment of paper leaflets, the foundation now receives information about the opening and closing of sick leave immediately from medical institutions, and requests the missing data from the employer. On October 13, Alexey Kuznetsov, Assistant Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, announced that no changes had been made to the procedure for issuing sick leave after information appeared about a reduction in the list of diseases that are considered grounds for official absence from the workplace. He added that no decisions have been made to reduce the number of diseases and conditions, including those accompanied by severe fever, for which a sick leave is issued, and such changes are not planned in the near future.
