The court seized more than 800 million rubles from the former deputy head of the government of the Ivanovo region

A court in the Ivanovo region seized more than 80 million rubles of illegal income from the former deputy head of the regional government, Sergei Zobnin, and related persons. The relevant information was published on November 10 on the official website of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.

"The court agreed with the position of the prosecutor's office and decided to satisfy the claims for a total amount of more than 800 million rubles, collecting illegally obtained funds to the income of the Russian Federation," the statement said.

According to the investigation, Zobnin provided protection to a commercial organization using his official position. So, for the period from 2022 to 2024, with his support, a contract was signed with a construction company for 21 years and an amount of 800 million rubles. In addition, a criminal case has been opened under the article on abuse of official authority.

Earlier, on July 12, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Ivanovo arrested for two months two deputy chairmen of the government of the Ivanovo region, Irina Ermish and Sergei Zobnin, who are accused of abuse of office. The regional FSB said that they provided one company with a preferential right to conclude 22 government contracts for major repairs of social facilities totaling more than 850 million rubles.
