According to the head of the commission, Voronovsky agrees to cooperate. At the same time, the commission granted the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation to remove the deputy's immunity.
According to the published draft resolution posted on the official Internet portal of legal information, a criminal case may be initiated against Voronovsky under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a particularly large bribe").
Earlier in the day, the commission recommended that the Duma approve the removal of Voronovsky's parliamentary immunity and open a criminal case against him. Prior to this, the State Duma received a submission from the Prosecutor General of Russia, Alexander Gutan, to consent to the deprivation of parliamentary immunity of parliamentarian Voronovsky. It was reported that the documents were sent to the commission for control over the accuracy of information on income, property and property-related obligations.
Voronovsky said on the same day that he was in Moscow, was not trying to hide, and was ready to answer all questions from the investigation. He added that the law enforcement agencies had made no official claims against him and he did not know what they were accusing him of.
