A resident of the Stavropol Territory lost 2 million rubles due to magical rituals. A criminal case has been opened, the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on Monday, November 10.
The victim was a 33-year-old woman from the village of Soldato-Alexandrovskoye (Soviet district), writes IA StavropolMedia. A villager found a fortune-telling ad on the Internet, where she was offered to make a personal layout on the cards.
Further, unknown persons demanded that the victim participate and pay for other rituals. She transferred money, fearing that her relatives would be corrupted. As a result, the woman contacted the police with a fraud report.
Earlier it was reported that fortune-tellers, magicians and psychics are planning to double the fines and bring them to 1 million rubles. Tightening in this area may be an important step towards protecting citizens from manipulation and unfair influences, experts suggest.
