A new stage of the educational project "Lesson in Numbers" has begun in Russian schools

Russian schoolchildren, as part of the new stage of the All-Russian project "Lesson in Numbers" from VK, had the opportunity to look at the work of popular video platforms from the inside. The event is taking place across the country with the support of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, the footage is published by Izvestia on November 10.

At the "Numbers Lesson", children and teenagers can learn about various IT professions in the format of fascinating lectures, ask questions, and even try themselves as a developer, cybersecurity specialist, or analyst.

Georgy Shchelkanov, Director of University Relations and one of the heads of the VK educational unit, explained that such events are very important for the modern generation.

"We annually implement career guidance and training projects. We try to develop the skills of young people to work in the IT field. Today, a student can try himself in one of the 15 professions in the field of information technology, choose the one that suits him and begin to develop in this field," Shchelkanov said.

In the course of such lessons, even elementary school students can be told just complicated things. The difficulty levels have been adapted specifically for all students. More than 3 million students take part in the "Lessons of Numbers" every year.

In August, Moscow hosted pre-professional classes in schools in the capital. Students could choose one of six areas of study: engineering, medical, entrepreneurial, psychological and pedagogical, IT and media classes. The Department of Education and Science noted that such programs help students to consciously choose their future profession. To do this, children visit university laboratories, employers' sites, participate in research and can get their first jobs at colleges.
