Egyptian President declares the value of relations with Russia
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met with Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu in Cairo on November 10 and conveyed greetings to Russian President Vladimir Putin through him, stressing that the country highly appreciates relations with Moscow.
"President Al-Sisi began the meeting with a request to convey his greetings to Russian President Vladimir Putin," the Yorum7 portal quoted him as saying.
During the talks, the parties discussed bilateral economic cooperation, in particular the construction of the Ed-Dabaa nuclear power plant and the creation of a Russian industrial zone on the banks of the Suez Canal. The Egyptian leader stressed that Cairo highly values relations with Moscow, and noted their development and dynamics, which led to the signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between the two countries.
It is noted that Shoigu, in turn, expressed gratitude for the words of greeting to Putin and expressed Russia's interest in developing relations with Egypt. He also pointed out the significant role of Cairo in the Middle East region.
The day before, Shoigu arrived at the head of an interdepartmental Russian delegation in Egypt on a working visit to hold talks with the country's top political and military leadership. The Russian delegation was met at Cairo airport by Fayza El-Naga, Adviser to the President of Egypt on National Security Issues, and Georgy Borisenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
