- The Lithuanian activist spoke about the panic in the country due to the closed borders.
There was a panic in Lithuania amid the closure of the borders with Belarus. Lithuanian activist Erika Shvenchenene told Izvestia about this on November 10.
"People are all in a panic. We understand that this is madness, it shouldn't be like this. But, alas, our voice is not heard, because for every opinion, for the fact that we support the end of the conflict, for the fact that we are for peace, we have fines, we have criminal cases," she said.
According to her, Lithuania's closure of the borders with Belarus is necessary to begin the blockade of Kaliningrad and open a second front.
In addition, she stressed that the situation with the country's budget is sad, as Lithuania actively finances Ukraine. So, in her opinion, the Baltic States have become a toy in the hands of the European Union (EU), which is not at all interested in the fate of these countries.
The Lithuanian government decided to completely close the borders with Belarus for a period of one month on October 29. It later became known that because of this decree, about 5,000 Lithuanian trucks were blocked on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, which, as the State Customs Committee of Belarus (SCC) reported on November 1, would be able to return only after the borders were opened.
On November 5, Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginene called on Minsk to open the borders and allow Lithuanian trucks to leave the territory, while reopening the checkpoint will not be discussed.
