This year, the demand of small and medium-sized businesses for accounting services has grown by 60%, according to VTB research.

"Entrepreneurs are actively switching to automated solutions and outsourcing amid changes in tax regulation and increased accounting requirements," the bank explained.

Based on the analysis of more than 12 thousand requests in the VTB digital accounting service, it turned out that entrepreneurs most often seek help in organizing payment acceptance using a QR code. This operation is not formally included in the professional expertise of accountants, but the business actively involves specialists in setting up payments and correctly reflecting such transactions in accounting.

In second place are issues related to the reporting calendar, business rules, and working with an individual entrepreneur's personal account on the FTS website. In third place are queries related to labor law: from basic concepts and economics of hiring to tax calculations and deadlines for personnel reporting.

The fourth position includes questions on tax changes, primarily in terms of VAT, and the fifth position includes information requests on what taxes and contributions should be paid, as well as what reports should be submitted to regulatory authorities.

"The results of the query research in our VTB Accounting for Business service indicate the transformation of the accountant's role. Today, it is not just a performer, but a strategic business partner who must have broad knowledge that goes beyond classical accounting. Demand has shifted towards training, proactive consulting, and assistance in digitalizing business processes, including those related to banking operations. The ability to simply explain complex things and build a clear commitment schedule for the client, as well as the willingness to expand the area of responsibility, become key competencies," commented Spartak Solonin, head of the Corporate Digital Business Department, Senior Vice President of VTB.
