The driver of a passenger car was killed in a collision with a train in the Samara region

In the Samara region, a passenger car driver drove onto a railroad crossing in front of an approaching freight train and died in a collision. This was announced on November 10 by the press service of the Kuibyshev Railway.

"The train driver applied emergency braking, but the distance was insufficient, and a collision could not be avoided," the department's Telegram channel reported.

According to preliminary data, a VAZ-2114 car collided with freight train No. 3601 at the crossing. The incident occurred at 00:54 local time (coincides with Moscow time) on the stretch between Vodinskaya and Starosemeikino stations of the Kuibyshev railway.

The press service of the Kuibyshev Transport Prosecutor's Office reported that the agency is checking compliance with the requirements of traffic safety legislation. A transport prosecutor and an investigative task force went to the scene to establish all the circumstances of the incident.

"If there are grounds, response measures will be taken," the prosecutor's office said in a Telegram channel.

Earlier that day, as a result of a collision between a car and a bus in the Baikal Territory, one person was killed and two others were injured. It is specified that the driver of the car died on the spot from her injuries. The passenger of the car was seriously injured and was hospitalized. A bus passenger was also injured.
