As a result of the derailment of cars with rubble in the Leningrad region, 17 freight trains and one passenger train on the St. Petersburg - Petrozavodsk route were delayed. This was announced on November 10 by the North-Western Transport Prosecutor's Office.

It is specified that the incident occurred at the Yanega railway station. In total, four cars derailed without a subsequent rollover.

"A passenger train from St. Petersburg to Petrozavodsk and in the opposite direction, as well as 17 freight trains, were detained," the department said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

Upon the incident, the prosecutor's office organized an inspection of the implementation of legislation on traffic safety during the operation of railway transport.

Earlier, on September 13, it was reported that three railway tank cars derailed in the village of Usogorsk in the Komi Republic. As a result of the incident, no one was injured, there was no oil spill.
