- The media reported on the preparation by India and the Russian Federation of an agreement on labor mobility
Moscow and New Delhi plan to sign an agreement on labor mobility during the upcoming Russian-Indian summit to be held in India in December. This was reported on November 10 by The Economic Times newspaper.
"Russia is striving to increase the number of Indians among its workforce. Indian specialists are finding jobs in sectors such as construction and the textile industry," the publication says.
According to the newspaper, the document is intended to simplify labor migration and will contribute to the growth of the number of Indian citizens working in Russia in the coming years.
It is clarified that last week, Indian Labor Minister Mansukh Mandavia held a meeting with his Russian counterpart Anton Kotyakov in Doha, where issues of attracting Indian labor were discussed. According to the current quota of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, by the end of 2025, more than 70 thousand Indian citizens will be able to find jobs in Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on October 10 that Russia was interested in foreign labor, but it should be law-abiding citizens. The Russian leader noted that there are many problems in the field of migration, and Russian citizens themselves point this out. In addition, he stressed that migrants must comply with the law and the rules of Russia.
