Artist Eric Bulatov died due to emphysema

Soviet and Russian artist, honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts (RAH) Eric Bulatov died due to pulmonary ephemesis. This was announced on November 9 by a friend of his family, Tatiana.

"Eric has been very ill for the last year: he had emphysema of the lungs, from which he passed away," she said in an interview with TASS.

Tatiana added that the artist died in a hospital in Paris, where he had been lying for the last three years of his life.

The founding father of social art died at the age of 93.

Eric Bulatov's death at the age of 92 became known earlier that day. Bulatov became famous for his paintings, in which he combined text and image, creating philosophical images at the junction of painting, language and space. During the Soviet years, he was known as an illustrator of children's books, but it was in the genre of conceptual painting that he gained international recognition.
