The elimination of the giant prominence of the X-flash in the Sun was captured on video

The moment of destruction of a giant relatively cold and dense plasma cloud — the X—prominence - by a solar flare has been recorded. The corresponding footage was provided on November 9 by the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IKI RAS).

They show how one of the fragments of the morning X-flare gets into the lenses of telescopes watching the star around the clock, from the center of which magnetic fibers are ejected, devouring a prominence held close above the surface of the Sun.

The length of the eliminated dark cold gas fiber was, as the experts clarified in their statement on the Telegram channel, approximately 300 thousand kilometers.

"The final part of the shooting looks no less fascinating, when the plasma fibers, spinning wildly, screw back into the surface of the Sun, dragging there with them the remnants of a weaker and slower gas 'creature' they had just torn apart," their message describes.

A powerful solar flare that was directed towards Earth was reported to the IKI RAS on the same day. According to their information, plasma ejection was observed along the star line. The final flash score reached the X1.79 level, which is one of the highest.
