The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation learned the location of the award ceremony for Ukrainian militants in the Dnipropetrovsk region, which was attacked, from a hacked chat. This was announced on November 9 by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Alexander Syrsky.

"The problem is not only that the ban on celebrations in frontline areas has been violated. There was a group chat on social media again, and this is ignoring basic safety standards. It was by hacking into social networks that the Russians most likely found out about the meeting," he said in an interview with the Ukrainian edition of TSN.

In addition, he added that 12 Ukrainian militants were killed. According to Syrsky, an investigation is currently underway jointly with the State Bureau of Investigation (GBR) of Ukraine.

On November 6, The Telegraph newspaper reported that a missile strike by the Russian Armed Forces on the Dnipropetrovsk region had led to significant losses in elite units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was noted that the Ukrainian authorities had launched an investigation into the possible negligence of the command, as the militants of the 35th separate Marine brigade were assembled in an open area on the orders of the command when the positions were hit by ballistic missiles.
