Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu has arrived in Egypt at the head of an interdepartmental Russian delegation on a working visit, during which negotiations will be held with the country's top political and military leadership. This was announced on the evening of November 9 in the press service of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

"Sergei Shoigu, at the head of the Russian interdepartmental delegation, arrived in Egypt on a working visit..."It is planned to discuss with Egyptian partners a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation of mutual interest, as well as exchange views on topical regional and international issues," TASS quoted the statement as saying.

It is specified that the Russian side was met at Cairo airport by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi's National Security Adviser Fayza El-Naga and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Arab Republic of Egypt Georgy Borisenko.

The talks, which, in addition to the leader of the Republic of El-Sisi and El-Naga, will also be attended by Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ata, Minister of Defense and Military Industry Abdel Magid Sakr and heads of other law enforcement agencies and special services, will address issues of reaching Russian-Egyptian agreements concluded at the highest level. In particular, military and military-technical cooperation, as well as issues of combating terrorism, will be discussed.

Shoigu flew to Baghdad on September 16 to hold a meeting with the top leadership of Iraq, with whom the Russian side also plans to continue cooperation in the field of security.
