Two trains collided on the railway between the cities of Pezinok and Bratislava in Slovakia, several casualties are reported, and delays are predicted for other trains on this section. This was reported on November 9 by Pravda newspaper with reference to the railway company and representatives of law enforcement agencies of the republic.

"Several victims have been reported from the scene of an accident between Bratislava and Pezink. The Slovak Railway Company (ZSSK) announced that the REX 1814 train (from Nitra to Bratislava) collided head—on with the Ex 620 train after exiting the Pezinok station," the article says.

Witnesses interviewed by the publication note that before the "terrible impact" the train braked sharply, and after the collision, those passengers with medical education were urged to come to the front of the train, probably to provide first aid.

It is emphasized that emergency services have already arrived at the accident site, where Slovak Interior Minister Matusz Shutay Estok is currently heading. There are six ambulance crews involved, as well as dozens of professional and volunteer fire brigades.

The ZSSK press service pointed out that train traffic was disrupted as a result of the incident and did not rule out the possibility of closing the affected section.

On November 5, NDTV reported 11 deaths when a passenger and freight train collided in the state of Chhattisgarh in central India. It was noted that another 20 people, including a baby, were injured in the accident, which, according to preliminary information, could have been caused by an alarm failure or an error by the driver.
