The mayor of Romn declared a military emergency after the explosions in Sumy region

A military emergency is observed in the city of Romny, Sumy region of Ukraine after the explosions. This was announced on November 9 by the mayor of the city Oleg Stogniy.

"Damage to infrastructure facilities has been recorded. <...> Community utilities and relevant services have been involved in the work at the site of a military emergency," the mayor wrote on his Facebook page (banned in the Russian Federation, owned by Meta Corporation, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).

The mayor noted that infrastructure facilities had been damaged, and reminded residents of the ban on posting photos, videos and other information about the destruction on social networks.

Earlier in the day, the country's Deputy Minister of Energy, Artyom Nekrasov, noted that it was difficult to repair energy facilities in Ukraine due to large-scale destruction. He added that all thermal power plants of Centrenergo had stopped generating electricity.
