The Dorogomilovsky District Court of Moscow granted the prosecutor's office's claim and banned the dissemination of information in Russia on several websites offering neodymium magnets to interfere with the operation of utility meters. The relevant information follows from the court file.

The reason for the proceedings was the monitoring of the Internet network conducted by the Dorogomilovskaya interdistrict prosecutor's office. During the inspection, Internet pages were identified that contained information about ways to illegally stop water and electricity meters using magnets, as well as advertising the devices themselves for purchase.

As the court noted, this information was freely available, did not require registration for viewing and could encourage citizens to commit illegal acts. The site owners could not be identified.

The decision emphasizes that unauthorized interference with the operation of metering devices is an administrative offense (Article 7.19 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation), and in cases of significant damage can be classified as a criminal offense (theft, fraud).

The court declared the posted information prohibited for distribution on the territory of the Russian Federation. Based on this decision, Roskomnadzor is obliged to add these sites to the Unified Register of Prohibited Information, which will lead to their blocking.

Earlier, on October 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law tightening the regulation of advertising of non-alcoholic tonic drinks, including energy drinks. In radio ads, the warning should sound for at least three seconds, in TV ads and in film and video services - for at least five seconds. In this case, the text warning must occupy at least 7% of the frame area or advertising area.
