- Dzyuba called the attempted abduction of Zenit football player Mostovoy a strange story.
The attempted abduction of Zenit football player Andrei Mostovoy in St. Petersburg is a strange story. This was announced on November 9 by Artyom Dzyuba, a football player and striker of the Akron football club.
"Seriously, it's a strange story," he told TASS.
According to the athlete, he was surprised that Mostovoy could not "fend off someone unknown."
On October 27, a source from Izvestia reported an attempted abduction of football player Mostovoy and businessman Sergei Selegen. The athlete was attacked by a group of unknown people, but the young man managed to fight off the kidnappers. Soon after, five suspects were detained in St. Petersburg. A criminal case was opened into the incident under Articles 126 ("Kidnapping") and 162 ("Robbery") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. It was reported that the alleged mastermind of the crime is located outside of Russia.
Also, in a conversation with Izvestia, Mostovoy shared that he could never have imagined that such an incident could happen to him. The football player did not call anyone and create panic after the intruders attempted to kidnap him.
