A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Vostok group of troops liberated the village of Rybnoye in the Zaporizhia region. In addition, the Russian Armed Forces repelled six attacks by Ukrainian units from areas of settlements in the Kharkiv region in order to unblock the encircled formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 16 enemy hexacopters were shot down trying to deliver ammunition and medicines to the encircled units. During the day, up to 50 militants were killed in the Kupyansk area.

In the DPR's Krasnoarmeysk, Russian assault groups successfully conducted offensive operations in the Dinas microdistrict, continued to destroy surrounded Ukrainian Armed Forces formations in the northwestern and eastern quarters of the Central District and in the western industrial zone. Seven attacks by Ukrainian formations from the Grishino settlement area were repelled.

"Eight enemy attempts to break out of the encirclement in the northern direction were thwarted, three servicemen of the 32nd mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were captured. <...> During the day, more than 275 Ukrainian servicemen, two tanks, four armored combat vehicles, a pickup truck and a self-propelled artillery installation were destroyed in the area of the settlements of Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov of the Donetsk People's Republic. "Acacia", — stated in the summary of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated energy facilities that support the work of enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, transport infrastructure used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 143 districts.

In turn, air defense systems shot down a long-range guided missile "Neptune", seven multiple rocket launchers of the HIMARS system made in the USA and 247 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 668 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 95,801 UAVs, 635 anti-aircraft missile systems, 25,925 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,611 multiple rocket launchers, 31,194 field artillery and mortars, 46,243 pieces of special vehicles.
